Once again the annual Catgut Run took place. The Catgut run is a 100 km motorcycle ride to the northernmost point in Denmark, the city of Skagen. No more purpose of the trip than hanging out with good friends, eating seafood and having a couple of Dansih beer. Probably the best beer in the world.

Take care of your Groundstone shoes once in a while, they’re worth it. Because if you do, they will age with grace and attitude!
1. Clean your shoes with leather cleaner to get the dirt off. If necessary, use saddle soap and water for a better cleaning. But be sure to rinse away all of the saddle soap otherwise it can damage the leather. Never use a detergent since it can destroy the natural oils.
2. Condition the leather to soften. While the leather is still slightly moist, apply a leather conditioner to replace the leather’s natural oils. Set your boots aside for 24 hours to dry. Stuff your boots with paper or even better, use shoe trees to maintain shape.
3. If you prefer your boots shiny, apply boot polish, paste or wax, and buff to a shine. Make sure the polish matches the shoes.

Short story: I was into sail racing but at the time I was living in the inlands, which is not at all the right place to live when you want to race big sail boats. I just had to move to the sea. It was back in -78 and I was applying for a job at a big company on the Swedish west coast. At the interview I didn’t even have a clue they were making shoes…
Anyway, they asked me to rate the shoes on the table and select the designs that wouldn’t sell. So I browsed through the models and pointed out the ugly ones. Of course I was totally wrong and rejected all the top sellers. Later, the manager told me it was just a test to see if I had the guts. Anyway, he sent me to Italy for six months to work in a shoe factory. That’s how my journey in shoes began.

Short story: I studied economy in the eighties and I have started a few companies since then. From webb development to real estate and motorcycles. Sure, I’ve been an office rat for many years but nowadays I try to do stuff that does’nt require my presence at an office. I still think it’s a lot of fun to start up new things and in this company of people it’s even better. I can pretty much work with, and sell shoes from my camper at the beach or from the cabin in the mountains.

I made a cross-country trip through the United States. Five friends riding garage-built choppers from Los Angeles to Florida for four weeks. اونو عكس الدور All the cool people and places we saw during the trip made an impact. Five years since that trip I still process the all the impressions! Thinking about it in retrospect the feeling of beeing in a movie grows on you. Maybe I’ll write a book about that trip one day, haha!
